Our wedding is being put together with love and support from our friends in the Santa Ana community. And it’s so important to both Nate & myself that we get married in that neighborhood. Our first date ended with mimosas and mac n’ cheese at Chapter One. Our 2nd date was PBR’s at The Crosby followed by karaoke at Proof Bar. A few days later we ended up drinking whiskey at Memphis...

I used to think that concert music videos were, by and large, a cop out…but Niggas In Paris is a whole different beast. I’m just glad that they didn’t do the corny thing and shoot the video in Paris—it would’ve been a bit too on the nose. Watch The Throne is all about Jay-Z trying to out-Jay-Z himself and Kanye trying to out-Kanye himself…it works. How else...

Back when I tended bar, some of the DJs would celebrate J.Dilla’s life by scrapping the Serato for a night and just spin vinyl and quality hip-hop. It was always a nice differentiation from the norm…even if it didn’t bring in the hugest crowds. It did, however, keep the douchebags out for a moment.

That’s about the time that I really started listening to music. I was consciously listening instead of passively listening without paying any mind. 2Pac, Biggie, and Wu-Tang Clan spoke volumes to me at that time. I was buying CDs for my CD Walkman with my allowance, instead of asking my mom to buy me the cassette. This really shaped my musical taste.
