a quick question about drunk etiquette:

You’re with a group of friends in a public setting, and one of those friends is completely trashed and is bothering other people in the establishment (i.e. interrupting other peoples’ conversations, trying to kiss other peoples’ boyfriends/girlfriends who are not a part of your group, getting in strangers’ faces to have a conversation).

Do you, if you’re sober or not nearly as drunk, try to at least apologize on behalf of your drunk friend’s actions? Do you just idly sit by and not care? How do you guys react to this?

  1. cityofbridges answered: Intervene, apologize profusely, try to get friend out of there before they get arrested.
  2. agglesauce answered: This happened to me ONCE. I apoligized for said behavior and then more or less stopped hanging out with said person… I ain’t no one’s mom.
  3. divadawg said: I would try to take them out… Maybe to the bathroom to calm them
  4. sairahbairah answered: definitelyyyy apologize on his/her behalf
  5. trthbn answered: i wonder wanna be firends with this person, you gotaa questiona t least if you wanna go out with them if they make your evening tough and bad
  6. unimpressive answered: I reign their asses in and apologize. Most people understand anyway, but BOUNDARIES PEOPLE.
  7. benwilson answered: I apologize on their behalf, and then take incriminating pictures once they’ve passed out.
  8. memevida said: if you’re able/care enough, apologize on the drunk offender’s behalf and try to steer the offender out or away from the people. but you can only do so much if you’ve been drinking as well.
  9. cresscross answered: if they’re my friends, I would apologize or at least express some kind of disapproval, i’d try to stop them but only to a certain extent.
  10. uuuggghhhhh said: My friends and I always look out for each other so yeah, we’d be apologizing and wrangling the friend, instead of just letting them wander the bar disruptively drunk.
